Economic and Resource Development Intern

Brunswick House First Nation – Chapleau, ON


The Economic and Resource Development Intern will implement Brunswick House First Nations newly developed and ratified consultation policy. The Intern will facilitate, with guidance, economic and resource development opportunities for the community and region, while advancing relationships and develop in partnership more joint ventures and impact and benefit agreements.

Position Duties:

Must be a Post-Secondary Graduate, within the last 3 years , studying in such fields as;

  • Natural Resource Management
  • Environmental Management
  • Economic Development
  • Business, Political, Administration, Law
  • Other related fields

Intern must possess;

  • Excellent communication skills for liaising and communicating with Chief and Council, Community Members, Contractors, Consultants, Project Proponents, other First Nation communities, local Municipalities, funders and mos internal departments
  • Be highly motivated and self-directed, capable of multi-tasting and able to work with minimum supervision
  • Detail-oriented and analytical thinking individual
  • Strong problem identification with strong and innovative resolution skills
  • Unyielding work ethic and positive team attitude
  • Proficient computer skills involving word processing, spread sheet and media related skills

Growth and Development of Position:

The Economic and Resource Development Intern will have the opportunity to complete the Economic Development Association of Canada’s (EDAC) certification with the opportunity for a two-year internship with Brunswick House First Nation.
